2020 CCA fair

On 10 January 2020, we had the CCA fair for the sec 1s. Around 125 people signed up, which is more than half the sec 1 cohort. We had a CCA booth at the ISH and a dome at the atrium to project an image of the night sky onto.

The CCA booth was easy to set up, compared to the dome. We had a few telescopes and some fox hunting equipment, along with the LDs to show the forms for the CCA tryout registration. We gave away candies to "encourage" the sec 1s to sign up.

The dome was harder to set up on the day. The dome wasn't very stable, and the top bit was sagging. The cloth put onto the dome to allow the projection to be seen was only set up on the actual day of the event. It took around an hour to put the two large and heavy pieces of clothing onto it. The sec 1s still enjoyed the viewing of the dome, even though the projected image was blurry and the contrast was too little.

I was able to see what we went through to make the CCA booths, similar to what happened last year when we were the sec 1s. It was kind of interesting and it was hard work setting up and taking down the booths. I was also happy to see some of the sec 1s.
