Today, I used the school's telescopes to look at the school buildings and the Sun. The CCA Excos taught us the function of each telescope and how to use them. We also used the finder scopes to look into the school buildings and the trees. We weren't allowed to touch the telescope with wet hands or breathe into it, as well as not scratching it. The telescopes we used are the Orion Starblast Reflector, the Celestron Omni XLT 150, the Meade Star Navigator 102, the Coronado Solar Telescope and a finderscope. The finderscope showed upside-down images, however. We were allowed to aim the reflector telescopes at other parts of the school and had a lot of fun using the finderscope! It was an enjoyable experience that was engaging, though it would have been better if it wasn't as hot. I learnt how to use reflector telescopes and how to move its aim to centre it on other objects. I also learnt that the filter on the Coronado Solar Telescope filters out all the light beside the light produced through hydrogen fusion.
